Fox Control
The fox population in Urban areas has never been such a problem as it is today. The problems that come with this are many. We have all heard of instances where young children have been attacked, people having pets being killed in their own garden, and the disease's that they carry such as mange, being passed on to our domestic animals.
Our service covers Essex and North East London. We use two methods to control urban foxes – culling on the spot and live trapping. The method we prefer is to shoot on-site because the precision equipment used, trained marksmanship, and the added benefit of some 35 years experience in the subject means that there is a guarantee that no suffering takes place. Trapping on the other hand means that a fox will have to spend several hours locked in a cage, and although having access to food and water, the animal will suffer the stress of being kept captive until such time in the day as it is collected by us and humanely shot at another location.
Why not release the fox into another area? This is not an option because, by law we cannot release an animal back into the wild, and if we did we would be liable for prosecution under animal cruelty legislation and or the Abandonment of Animals Act. Added to this the fact that if an urban fox were to be released into the wild it could result in the animal starving or being attacked by it rural counterparts whom already hold a territory.
